Personal Fit Club - I need fish oil - Personal training advice

A few weeks ago you could read in our blog about supplementation what supplementation in general can mean for you and whether you need it.

Today we focus specifically on fish oil. What is it and do you need it?

What is fish oil?

Fish oil is, as the name actually says, oil and fats that we can get from fish. We focus in particular on Omega 3 fatty acids (ALA, EPA and DHA). You have probably heard of this since more and more products are enriched with omega 3. Simply because this gives the impression that the product is healthier and will therefore be purchased faster.
Omega 3 fatty acids do not only have to come from fish. The most important (ALA) is also found in rapeseed oil, walnuts and soybean oil. In addition, you can now buy it in capsules. Almost every drugstore and pharmacy has it in its range.

Do I need fish oil (omega 3)?

Is it wise to take? Yes, the Nutrition Center, doctors and we at Personal Fit Club recommend the intake of fish oil. Is it necessary? Fish oil intake is not necessary. There are no serious consequences if you don't get it, as far as known.
The guideline for omega 3 intake is 200 milligrams per day from fish, which is roughly equivalent to 1 x fatty fish such as salmon or herring per week. White fish is of course also possible, but it contains somewhat lower amounts of omega 3.

What are the benefits of omega 3 fatty acids?

Several studies have shown that the intake of sufficient omega 3 fatty acids reduces the risk of heart disease and helps to lower blood pressure. In addition, it is good for the development of the brain and joints. Perhaps even more effects of fish oil will be known in the future, since various parties are (and continue to) do a lot of research into these fats.

So we recommend at least 1 x a week to prepare a meal with fish or of course to eat a tasty herring. Not only tasty, but also very healthy. Don't you like fish? Then the intake of omega 3 via capsules is certainly a good alternative. If in doubt, feel free to inquire further at a pharmacy, doctor, dietician or good drug store for the best choices for you.

In addition to good and healthy food, do you also want to get started with your body and train, lose weight or rehabilitate well? Then you are with Personal Fit Club at the right place. We look forward to seeing you in our training studios 😊
