There is so much on the market and the information you get about it is not always clear. There are of course certain foods that you can leave better and in this blog we help you on your way.

In this part we call 1 a first group of foods that are generally unhealthy. This does not mean that you should never eat them, but it is better to keep it on special occasions. We also help you by mentioning a healthy alternative for every unhealthy food product.

 

Sugary drinks

Added sugar is one of the worst ingredients in your diet. So you want to avoid this as much as possible. Some sources of sugar, however, are worse than others, but sugary drinks are particularly harmful. When you drink liquid calories, your brain doesn't seem to register this as food. So you can drastically increase your total calorie intake.

When consumed in large quantities, sugar can cause insulin resistance and is strongly linked to non-alcoholic liver fat. It is also associated with various serious conditions, including type 2 diabetes and heart disease. Many people today believe that sugary drinks are the number one cause of obesity in 1.

Healthy alternatives to sugary drinks

Fortunately there are a lot of healthy alternatives to drink. Consider water, tea and coffee. Coffee of course also in moderation.

 

Pizza

Pizza is super popular worldwide. It is one of the most eaten junk foods. When you buy a commercial pizza, chances are that it is full of unhealthy ingredients. Think of all kinds of processed foods and meat.

We also love pizza. And if you make them yourself, you can simply add what you want. So if you add all kinds of healthy ingredients, a pizza is not bad at all.

 

White bread

Most commercial white breads are unhealthy if they are eaten in large quantities because they are made from refined wheat, which is low in fiber and essential nutrients and can cause rapid spikes in blood sugar levels.

For people who can tolerate gluten, Ezekiel bread is an excellent choice. Wholemeal bread is also healthier than white bread.

 

Deep-fried, grilled or roasted food

Deep-frying, grilling and roasting are unfortunately among the unhealthiest cooking methods.

Food that is prepared in this way is often very tasty, but also high in calories. In addition, various types of unhealthy chemical compounds also form in this way of preparation.

These include acrylamides, acrolein, heterocyclic amines, oxysterols, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and advanced glycation end products.

Many of those chemicals that are formed during high temperature preparation have been associated with an increased risk of cancer and heart disease.

Healthy alternatives to fried, grilled or roasted food

Choose milder and healthier cooking methods such as cooking, stewing, blanching and steaming to improve your health.
