There are different types of exercises that are effective at burning calories. We list some fun and popular options to get you started.

Cardiovascular exercises

Cardio is the basis for burning calories for many people, and rightly so. With cardio you can work on your body in a fairly accessible way. Extra plus: you can do cardio perfectly outside, in the beautiful spring sun. The best cardio options are:

  • Running/jogging: This is an excellent way to burn calories, especially if you increase the pace.
  • Cycling: Whether outdoors on the road or indoors on a stationary bike or machine, cycling is great for burning calories.
  • Swimming: A full-body exercise that burns calories while strengthening muscles. Build up slowly and don't immediately swim 50 laps, you don't want to get injured.
  • Jumping rope: An intense cardio exercise that burns a lot of calories in a short time. What's super convenient is that it costs virtually nothing to do this and you can do it almost anywhere.

High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)

HIIT combines short bursts of high-intensity exercise with periods of rest or lower intensity. This can be applied to various exercises such as running, cycling, jumping, and so on. This will help you lose all the Easter calories.

Weight training

While strength training isn't as immediate a calorie burner as cardio, it helps build muscle mass, which in turn increases your resting metabolism. This means that you burn calories even while you are at rest. This makes it almost as effective as cardio, especially when you do compound exercises that target various muscle groups.

Exercises such as squats, lunges, deadlifts, and bench presses are some examples of strength training exercises that activate many muscles and therefore burn a lot of calories.

Circuit training

This involves performing a series of exercises in succession without much rest between sets. It increases heart rate and muscle activity, resulting in increased calorie burning.
